WE ARE ONE: A GLOBAL FILM FESTIVAL

Updated: Jul 1, 2020

Twenty-one film festivals across the world, including London, Berlin, Sydney, New York and Mumbai, have bandied together to host this ten-day event from May 29th to June 7th free on YouTube May 29 - June 7 at YouTube.com/WeAreOne.

The idea is altruistic and aims to bring us together across the globe when so many countries have been wracked by COVID 19. The full festival schedule will be available from May 29th at www.weareoneglobalfestival.com

From our side of the pond, the British Film Institute presents two restored silent films Shiraz and The Epic of Everest, with newly commissioned scores from contemporary musicians - Anoushka Shankar and Simon Fisher Turner. There is also a short film programme from emerging UK filmmakers and Rudeboy, a documentary about the UK’s Trojan records.

Audiences will be able to donate to COVID-19 relief efforts through a donate button or link on every film page. Highly recommended.
